During board comments, Trustee Carol Reaume said she is concerned about students using artificial intelligence and what district policies will govern that use. Technology Director Mr. Litchford described the district's approach to consolidating AI tools and said, "Google does not use student or school data that we input into Gemini." He added that the district is working to focus on Google Gemini to limit data exposure.
Separately, the board agreed that mold testing will be performed weekly during the summer so that any issues can be addressed promptly before the school year. The board said Neola policy guidance and applicable laws will inform forthcoming AI policies for the district.
