Resident asks Sheridan County to check Habitat for Humanity ownership

During public comment at the May 26 staff meeting, Sheridan County resident Vicky Taylor asked the Board to verify whether Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Big Horn had transferred ownership of the Weston Village Phase II development to a 501(c)(3) public benefit nonprofit and urged the Board to investigate that status.
County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson responded that any transfer of ownership recorded in Sheridan County would be accessible through the county's public land vault. The board did not take immediate action at the meeting to open a separate inquiry or direct staff to research the matter further.
