VDOT: Obslo Lane hard surfacing planned for July; Board agrees to transfer funds to cover shortfall

Adam Brooks of VDOT briefed the Board on maintenance and construction operations across Amelia County and provided specific project timing for upcoming work.
Brooks reported maintenance activity including right arm shoulder cutting on Route 616, countywide weed-eating ahead of bush hogging and contract mowing to resume on June 15. He said hard surfacing on Obslo Lane (Route 672) is scheduled for July and noted a projected funding shortfall for that project; Board members agreed to transfer existing funds between accounts so the project can proceed without additional county cost. Members also requested updated reports on remaining unpaved roads and available proffer funds for future infrastructure and ADA improvements.
Brooks and County Administrator Eric Pollitt agreed to provide updated reports to the Board at a subsequent meeting.
