Rec board hires Joel Webb as baseball director; city to pilot youth flag football

Councilmember Thomas reported that Joel Webb will return this spring to run the city's baseball program. Thomas thanked Landon for leading the program the last two years and said the Rec Board will launch a small trial of youth 7-on-7 flag football on city property; if the trial goes well the city may adopt the program in next year's budget.
Thomas said the pilot will help assess interest and inform any future budget allocation. Council members expressed support for trying a new youth offering and asked staff and the Rec Board to report back after the trial season.
