The Finance Committee reviewed an Intergovernmental Agreement with Kane County to provide temporary custody and detention services for DeWitt County juveniles at the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center. The three-year agreement (Feb. 1, 2026–Feb. 1, 2029) caps DeWitt placements at three minors while the center’s total population is under 38 and requires use of the AOIC Statewide Screening Instrument prior to admission.
Contractual fees include a per-diem of $225.00 per occupied detention bed; transport and off-site staffing are billed at $100 per hour (or $150 per hour on holidays); IDJJ transport flat rates ($100 to St. Charles/Warrenville; $500 to Chicago) and reimbursement for lab, X-ray and prescription charges. The committee voted to recommend the agreement to the full board (motion by Claro Carter, seconded by Terry Ferguson; voice vote carried).
