The DeKalb County Drainage Board approved an improvement location permit (ILP) for three 6‑unit T‑hangars at the DeKalb County Airport during its Aug. 6 meeting. John Beiser, engineer of record with BFNS, described the project and how stormwater will connect to an existing regional detention basin.
Beiser told the board, “What we're planning to build at the airport is 3 6 unit t hangars. That's gonna add 18, aircraft hangar positions at the airport.” He said the airport’s dry-bottom detention basin was oversized during a runway extension about five years ago and the project will not change the release rate from the airport property. The surveyor’s office reviewed the drainage summary and recommended approval; the board moved, seconded and approved the ILP as presented.
