Harvey County commission approves application for 2025 Emergency Management Performance Grant

The Harvey County Board of Commissioners approved an application to the 2025 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) program and authorized staff to sign the application. Emergency Management Director Michael Anderson described the EMPG as supporting "all-hazards planning and coordination activities" and noted the grant partially funds the Emergency Management Director position.
Anderson said the application and budget documents were included in the meeting materials and the deadline for submission to the Kansas Division of Emergency Management is Oct. 3, 2025. Commissioner Becky Reimer moved to approve the application and Commissioner Terry Scott seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
