District introduces Jennifer Connolly as incoming director of special education

The superintendent introduced Jennifer Connolly to trustees and the public as the district's incoming director of special education, calling the hire a ‘‘unicorn’’ given her more than 30 years of experience. The superintendent said Connolly will support IEP transitions for eighth graders and will help coordinate the transition as the district brings special education services in-house.
"We found a unicorn, and Jennifer Connolly will be joining us as our new, director of special ed," the superintendent said as the board recognized Connolly's arrival. Staff noted Connolly is not formally on district payroll until July 1 but the district is arranging an agreement with the SELPA so she can begin transition work earlier. Board members and attendees welcomed Connolly and thanked her for returning to the region to support students and staff.
