The San Isabel Union High School District Board held its annual organizational actions during the Dec. 8 meeting and finalized officer positions for the coming year.
Board member (speaker 3) nominated Chris Johnson for president, saying: "I'd like to nominate Chris Johnson for president because I think that you've just done a fabulous job and you've directed you've helped keep the ship, the pirate ship going in the correct direction." The nomination was seconded and the board affirmed Johnson; he stated he would remain board president. Trustees then nominated and approved Sherry Noble as board clerk and appointed Dr. Sheehan as secretary to the board; Dr. Sheehan accepted the appointment on the record.
Why it matters: Organizational elections establish governance leadership for the next year and determine who presides over future meetings and official signatory responsibilities.
