DeKalb authorizes adding Brookhaven and Doraville contests to Nov. 3 ballot

DeKalb County's elections staff will add municipal contests for the cities of Brookhaven and Doraville to the Nov. 3 ballot after the board authorized the executive director to execute agreements and Exhibit A attachments for those municipalities.
Director Dorothy Smith said the exhibit documents are standard forms and that countywide early voting rules allow any eligible voter to cast an early ballot at any DeKalb early-voting location. "Anybody in the county that's eligible to vote in the November election can vote at any early voting location in the county," Smith said when answering a question about where Brookhaven residents could cast ballots during advance voting.
The board approved authorization for the executive director to execute the agreements, subject to county attorney review. Members asked the county attorney and staff to review the standard Exhibit A language if edits are necessary going forward.
