Martinez highlighted major movement on state assessment indicators: "For 2025, we were 19.2 points above. We had a large jump," she said, describing an increase in ELA and growth on other indicators. She explained that science is now an information indicator on the dashboard and that the district was using 2024 data as a comparator while it examines sequencing changes and alignment with feeder districts. Martinez also credited targeted professional development and data cleanup for some of the CCI (College and Career Indicator) gains.
Board members asked how the district will help students complete A–G requirements and Algebra II, two cited barriers to four-year-college eligibility. Administrators said they are accelerating algebra opportunities for some eighth-graders to place them more appropriately in high-school math sequences and are reviewing counselor practices and course validations to improve A–G completion.
