The Nottoway County Board voted to reallocate $22,500 from existing capital line items to cover rent and utilities (except Internet) for relocated county offices in Blackstone, including the treasurer, electoral board and commissioner of the revenue.
County Administrator Steve Bowen explained the funding shift: "We're looking for $22,500 to pay the rent up to for the remainder of this fiscal year," identifying specific capital line items to move and noting some planned capital outlays were deferred to cover the cost. A supervisor moved and the board approved the reallocation by voice vote.
