County Clerk and Election Officer Rick Piepho told commissioners the Nov. 4 meeting should be canceled because it falls on Election Day and that the canvass normally held the Tuesday after the election conflicts with Veterans Day on Nov. 11. Piepho proposed rescheduling the canvass and commission meeting to Wednesday, Nov. 12, with the canvass beginning at 9 a.m.; the commissioners agreed.
The board recorded the rescheduling: the Nov. 4 meeting will be canceled, and the official canvass and regular meeting are planned for Wednesday, Nov. 12, with the canvass to start at 9 a.m. and regular business to follow. No formal vote transcript beyond recorded agreement was provided in the meeting minutes.
