The committee approved resolution 26,089, awarding the 13th Street sewer rehabilitation contract to Howard Construction, Inc. in the amount of $156,169.
Public Works staff explained the project is intended to address infiltration and inflow (I&I) problems that allow stormwater into the sanitary collection system in downtown: "This is just for I and I and just trying to close-up the area," staff said. Council completed a roll call and the motion passed unanimously at the meeting.
Staff said the work is critical to reduce excess flows to the wastewater pump station and protect existing sanitary infrastructure.
