Board honors January students of the month at Santa Ynez High

The Santa Ynez Valley Union High School District Board recognized two seniors as January Students of the Month on Jan. 20.
Quinn Robinson was honored as the senior student of the month (sponsored by Kelly Hunsicker). The superintendent noted Quinn’s academic record — one Allan Hancock concurrent-enrollment class, four honors and nine AP classes with a weighted GPA of 4.5 — and said Quinn has been accepted at Penn State and the University of San Diego among other schools. The superintendent also described Quinn’s extracurricular involvement (cheer, robotics, flute) and plans to pursue biology on a medical pathway.
Natalie Bailey was recognized as the Elks Club student of the month. The superintendent highlighted Natalie’s athletics leadership (captain in volleyball, named most valuable player), academic coursework (three Allan Hancock concurrent-enrollment classes, five honors, five AP classes; 4.3 weighted GPA) and her plans to pursue nursing, including intention to attend Colorado Christian University.
The board invited both students to be photographed with members after their recognition.
