The board adopted proclamations recognizing Treatment Court Month and Mental Health Awareness Month and invited community participation in treatment and recovery programs. A Justice Services speaker described recovery-court activities including harm-reduction training (Narcan instruction, partnership with EMS), a panel discussion, and a sequential intercept mapping workshop scheduled for June 8 to assess gaps in services for justice-involved individuals.
Staff shared a recovery-court success story about a participant who entered treatment, delivered a drug-free baby this spring, is working part time and is pursuing a nursing degree while remaining engaged in services. Commissioners praised the nonpunitive nature of interventions and the county's long-standing investments in justice-related mental-health programs. The proclamations were approved without objection.
