Board accepts major amendment to Nottoway solid-waste plan required by DEQ

The Nottoway County Board of Supervisors voted to accept a major amendment to the county's Solid Waste Management Plan, a change required by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
Planning staff and the administrator described the amendment as largely administrative updates to recycling and solid-waste requirements in the county's plan. The board opened the public hearing and, hearing no comments for or against the resolution, closed the hearing and approved the resolution to accept the major amendment.
Mr. Bohm introduced the item and noted DEQ's requirement; the board approved the resolution by voice vote with no recorded opposition. The administrator said staff would continue to coordinate required reporting to DEQ and provide the board with any subsequent implementation needs.
