Eagle mayor reads assault-awareness and Arbor Day proclamations; council adopts them

Mayor Brad Pike opened the March 24 meeting and read two proclamations recognizing assault awareness month and Denim Day and a proclamation designating April 25 as Arbor Day in Eagle.
"I, Brad Pike, the mayor of the city of Eagle in Idaho, do hereby proclaim April as (assault awareness month)," Pike said as he read the first proclamation and asked the council for a motion to adopt. A councilmember moved to adopt the proclamation and the council approved it by voice vote. Council then approved the Arbor Day proclamation after discussion about the city's Tree City USA recognition and the public benefits of urban canopy.
The proclamations are ceremonial but the Arbor Day reading emphasized local recognition: Pike urged citizens "to support efforts to protect our trees and woodlands," and the council noted Eagle's Tree City USA status and encouraged planting and care programs. No formal follow-up actions were recorded beyond the adopted proclamations.
