During the public participation portion of the Nov. 17 meeting, residents raised several neighborhood concerns and questions.
Leon Daniels of the Watersway development said curve signs on Oak Lane had been moved by residents and called the curve dangerous; Engineer S. Cosaboon responded that the curve meets state standards. Daniels also raised problems with portable basketball goals blowing into streets and asked that an ordinance be enforced to remove them; and he raised concerns about unfenced backyard pools. Mayor Brown said the Construction Official previously inspected a pool and noted a state statute exempts some pools above a certain height from fence requirements, and advised residents the ladder must be removed or locked when not in use. Daniels asked how many county or township residents would be hired at the new warehouses; Mayor Brown said the township requests developers consider local hires but cannot mandate hiring decisions.
Greg Martin of N. Cedarwood asked whether the Chief of Police was working without a contract; Mayor Brown confirmed the contract was approved earlier in the meeting. With no further public comments the committee closed public participation and moved into executive session.
