Carneys Point Township Committee on Nov. 5 unanimously approved audited vouchers totaling $4,374,250.71, motions that the Committee moved and seconded and then adopted without dissent.
The Committee also approved three Chapter 159 revenue insertions into the 2025 budget: $76,000 for a Local Recreation Improvement Grant (LRIG), $14,000 under the caption "American Rescue Plan‑Firefighter Grant," and $3,953 for a Municipal Alliance Grant. Mr. Pelura moved the LRIG insertion and Mr. Bomba and Dr. Johnson joined motions and seconds for the other grant items; each resolution passed unanimously. Resolutions to cancel taxes billed in error for Block 34, Lot 1 B01 and Block 220, Lot 1 B01 were also adopted without objection. Additionally, Res. 2025‑195 authorized an intra‑budget transfer of $89,900.
Committee discussion did not include extended debate on these items; several motions were handled as routine business. The Committee also discussed a JIF insurance dividend of $45,394.00 and indicated the common practice is to take the dividend as a credit against next year’s assessment; Mr. Bomba said it is "usually taken as a credit on the next years assessment."
