"So my motion is to delay that, this meeting again for 2 more weeks until we have that commissioner meeting where we can approve the $178,000 to go towards this project," the board member said.
Supporters of the delay said the commissioners’ contribution would reduce the per‑acre charge for affected landowners to $1,000 and give staff time to reissue assessment rolls. Staff said they would send updated assessment scrolls showing the commissioner amount and the $1,000 per‑acre figure. The board took a voice vote; the Chair announced, "Motion carries," and the hearing was continued to Aug. 27, 2026, at 08:30 at the same location. The record remains open and all previously submitted objection letters will carry over to the reconvened hearing.
