At the May 12 special meeting the district presented its own sunshine letter to open topics for negotiation with SCFT. The district’s listed proposals included a backup driver stipend, language related to SB88 for drug and alcohol testing and DMV pull notice for van drivers, clarifications to Article 8.1 distinguishing half‑day versus full‑day leave, and potential stipends for welding instructors and a community liaison. The board moved and approved the district’s sunshine letter with a 3-0 vote; two trustees were absent.
Superintendent Emily Pendell noted that items already covered by other opened articles need not be separately included in the sunshine letter for transparency. The district’s proposals identify workplace safety and operational items (driver testing and DMV pull notices) alongside compensation and leave clarifications.
