At its Aug. 25 budget retreat, the Ainsworth Community Schools Board of Education recommended that Superintendent Hafer bring Budget Option 1 forward for formal consideration at the Sept. 8 hearings and board meeting. The board's written recommendation says Option 1 would decrease the district's tax ask by more than $374,000 compared with the 2024-25 budget.
Board members reviewed four budget models presented by the superintendent and discussed the trade-offs of each. The retreat materials included detailed spending, revenue and tax information provided to board members in advance; Superintendent Hafer reviewed those materials and answered board questions during the session. No formal vote on adoption was recorded at the retreat; the board framed the recommendation as direction to bring the option for consideration at the Sept. 8 meeting.
