Director reports Feb. 12 power outage, LTFM funds may cover additional projects

The Director of Finance and Operations told the board that on Feb. 12 the district experienced a power failure that lost one phase to the building, causing damage to a large air-handling unit (AHU) motor and other minor equipment, and resulting in early dismissal of students.
"On February 12th we had a power failure right around lunch time. This was similar to the one we had last year and again we lost one phase of power to the building. With this type of outage our three phase motors and equipment can easily burn out. We did lose one large AHU motor and had some other minor issues as well. We did have to send kids home early," the Director reported. The director said Lake Country Power has been contacted and that corrective work is likely to occur in June when school is out. The director also noted anticipated LTFM funds that could be applied to carpet, door hardware, painting and concrete replacement and that the revised FY25 budget will be ready for March review.
