The Hill City Public School District board voted to approve several personnel hires for the 2025–26 school year at its June 23 meeting. The board approved hiring Victoria Vanderschaaf as a part-time English Language Learner teacher, Megan Robinson as a full-time 5th–8th ELA teacher, Grace Roy as a full-time Early Childhood teacher, and Kimberlee Mueske as a .33 FTE Medical Careers teacher; each motion passed by recorded roll-call votes.
During committee reports the board also noted that the HC/N co-op offered and filled coaching positions: Jeremy Schwarz accepted the head boys basketball coaching position and Sam Sparen accepted the head football coaching position. The hires were presented as routine staffing actions tied to contracts (HCUE and AFSCME) and were approved without recorded opposition.
