The Sevier County Emergency Services Committee voted unanimously June 4 to accept the Sevier County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan and instructed staff to forward the plan to the Board of Commissioners in the form of a resolution at the next board meeting. Commissioner Ray Ogle made the motion to accept the plan; Commissioner Jack Parton seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Director Joe Ayers of the Department of Emergency Management presented the multi-jurisdictional plan to the committee. The committee record shows acceptance at the Emergency Services Committee level and indicates the next procedural step is formal consideration by the full Board of Commissioners as a resolution.
