Board receives ARPA and agency annual reports; Cambridge stormwater project credited with reducing flooding

County officials received a series of annual reports on American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) projects and partner activities.
Susan Roberts, Cambridge City Clerk (via Zoom), reported that Cambridge’s stormwater improvement project was finalized in November 2024 and "successfully addressed flooding and standing water in the northern sections of the city; the city continues to enhance its efforts." Dalton Johnson, Roland City Manager, said Roland’s water main looping and housing development work are underway and that funds are "estimated to be completely spent by the end of the fiscal year." Amy Womeldorff, Zearing City Clerk, reported the town’s water main looping was completed in 2025 and "all funds have been expended."
Robyn Belden of Mid‑Iowa Community Action (MICA) discussed the effect of a federal shutdown on food needs and an expansion of home‑based Head Start services. Kristina Griego of ACCESS outlined ARPA‑funded support including emergency housing and financial assistance for essential needs and highlighted staffing and outreach from the written report.
The Board received the reports for the record; no county allocations or additional approvals tied to these reports were recorded at the meeting.
