Board conducts bulk first and second readings of district policies
Summary
On July 21, 2025, the ISD 361 board completed second readings of multiple governance and superintendent-related policies and conducted first readings of a large set of employee/operational policies, moving them forward on the review calendar.
The board held second readings for several governance and administration policies, including Policy 207 (Public Hearings), 209 (Code of Ethics), 212 (School Board Member Development), 213 (School Board Committees), 214 (Out‑of‑State Travel by School Board Members), and a series of district administration and superintendent policies (301–306 series and related policies). These second readings indicate the board is preparing items for possible future action.
The board also completed first readings of a large batch of policies numbered in the 400s and 300s covering equal employment opportunity, disability nondiscrimination, discipline and dismissal of employees, veteran's preference, public and private personal data, mandated reporting, drug/alcohol/cannabis testing, harassment and violence, family and medical leave, and staff development, among others. The minutes list each policy number and title; no roll-call votes on policy adoptions were recorded at this meeting.
