Council adopts first 2026 budget amendment, adds $35,000 for digital reader boards

The Eden Plus City Council on July 13 adopted Ordinance 2841, the first 2026 budget amendment. Finance Director Kristen Reed told the council she made small changes between the first and second readings, including adding $35,000 for two digital reader boards to be paid from the street fund and a one-time transfer split across funds based on existing IT-budget percentages to keep the IT fund within policy.
Reed also reported that the amendment reduces the reserve balance in Fund 35 (Facilities Fund) below the city’s reserve policy. Committee recommended approval on second reading and the council adopted the ordinance by voice vote.
Council members asked no further questions on the record; Finance & Technology committee noted the city remains ahead in its first-quarter revenue/expenditure status report. The council recorded the passage of the amendment without a roll-call vote in the meeting transcript.
