The board voted to keep the 2025 board compensation rate at $425 and add an additional $50 for special meetings and committee meetings that do not already have a yearly stipend. The motion required paperwork for reimbursement and passed 4-3, with Members Hollenkamp, Wolf, Gohman and Zastrow voting in favor and Members Wright, Levin and Zahnow opposed.
Separately, the board approved the recommendation of Interim Superintendent Doug Froke to retain Squires, Waldspurger and Mace and Ratwik Roszak and Maloney as general counsel, and Kennedy Graven for bond counsel and election support. Member Zastrow asked for clarification that, per policy, only the Superintendent, Board Chair and Business Manager are permitted to contact legal counsel; the minutes note that clarification and the motion carried unanimously. The board also adopted the 2025 meeting schedule, with meetings to be held on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in Board Room 209 and, in the event of inclement weather, moved to the next business day.
