Board OKs $675,000 replacement levy for educational programs and operations

The Odessa School District Board of Directors voted unanimously Nov. 25 to place a replacement excess levy of $675,000 on the Feb. 10, 2026 ballot to support educational programs and general operations.
Resolution #1-2025-26, approved at the district’s high school library meeting, states in its ballot title that the levy would be a "replacement excess levy of $675,000 be collected in the year 2027, requiring approximately $1.86 per $1,000 of assessed valuation - to be placed in the General Fund and used for Educational Programs and Operation." Zach Schafer moved the resolution; Janie Steward seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
Superintendent Steve Fisk presented the resolution and supporting fiscal materials to the board before the vote. The action sends the levy request to voters; the board did not adopt any new spending allocations at the meeting. If approved by electors on Feb. 10, 2026, the funds would be collected beginning in 2027 and placed in the district General Fund.
