Board approves library book surplus, school improvement plans and second readings of PRESS policy updates

Building administrators prepared school improvement plans required by the Illinois State Board of Education for any district receiving targeted or comprehensive designations; the board approved the plans for Parrish, Thomas, Lewis and Carbondale Middle School.
The board conducted second readings and approved multiple PRESS policies and related draft updates covering areas such as meeting procedures, public records, grievance procedures, student health, admissions and extracurricular conduct. These policy updates passed by voice vote.
