At the April 15 meeting the board voted 4-0 (Weinstein absent) to approve the Sulphur Springs Union School District's petition to apply for the Los Angeles County Arts Ed Collective Arts Advancement Grant. Assistant Superintendent Julie McBride presented the application; minutes state the district is eligible to receive up to $25,000 for the 2026-2027 school year to support visual and performing arts for TK–6 students.
Trustee Paola Jellings moved to approve the petition and Trustee Denis DeFigueiredo seconded; the motion passed by voice vote with Trustees Chase, DeFigueiredo, MacDonald and Jellings recorded as voting "Aye."
