Superintendent delivers midyear evaluation summary; students prepare for One Act and band residency

Superintendent Seykora reviewed her midyear evaluation with the board on Jan. 26, highlighting district finances, visibility and approachability, delegation of duties and interactions with staff, students and community.
Student representative Natalie Taylor said the Math League competed in its third meet of the year and the One Act Play placed second at the subsection contest on Jan. 24. Taylor also reported that Copper Street Brass would be in the district for a week to work with band students in grades 5-12 and would perform a concert with the high school band at 7:00 p.m. on Jan. 27.
Certified staff members reported classroom projects including a first-grade 'Valentines Around the World' writing project, second-grade Flat Stanley letters and a 7th-8th grade book club with 41 participants. Superintendent Seykora thanked staff for their efforts and acknowledged Ethan Buckholtz for performing smudging prior to the meeting with sage harvested from the Nevis School Forest.
