Outgoing president DeFigueiredo honored with certificates from elected officials and colleagues

Trustees and staff recognized outgoing Board President Denis DeFigueiredo for his 23 years of service at the start of the Dec. 17 Annual Organizational Meeting. Field representatives presented a Congressional Certificate of Recognition and certificates from the offices of Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, the City of Santa Clarita mayor's office and state Senator Suzette Valladares.
Upon being recognized, Mr. DeFigueiredo said it had been a privilege to serve the community and the District and thanked certificated and classified staff for their work supporting students. "It has been a privilege to serve the community and the District, and to work alongside colleagues and friends over the past 23 years," he said.
