Matt Hammer of Ehlers briefed the Minnewaska Area Schools Board on Jan. 27, 2025 about potential financing and election timing. Hammer said the district could include one or two questions on the Nov. 4, 2025 special election ballot and that a $15 million measure could be structured to be tax-neutral; he added that additional funding might be possible depending on the community's comfort with tax changes.
Board members said the household survey results will be important to determine community tax tolerance and to finalize the scope and dollar amount of any ballot question. No ballot language or ballot question was adopted at the meeting; the board will review consultant input and survey data before deciding whether to place questions on the Nov. 4 ballot.
