Resident says sign dedication went well, urges social media for future projects

Desiree Towel, a Deer Lodge resident, told the Deer Lodge City Council during the public comment period that the recent dedication for the new sign outside the municipal building “went really well” and that many people viewed the event online.
“And I just wanted to say that we did have the dedication of the sign just outside the building here.” Towel said the city should factor social media into future project planning after numerous residents said they saw the event online. She also reported a remaining issue: the two boards for the wall mounting have not yet been installed and staff are working to resolve that snafu.
The remarks came during the council’s public comment time, when members of the public are invited to speak on items not on the agenda. The council did not indicate formal next steps during the comment period.
