A letter dated Feb. 19, 2026 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture notified the Village of Carbon Cliff that the USDA is cancelling the village’s Carbon Cliff Water Treatment Application, which was obligated in 2021 but remained inactive. The minutes record that the letter states the funds were to be spent within five years.
The notice appeared under correspondence on the March 3 meeting agenda. The cancellation removes a previously obligated funding source for the village’s water-treatment project, and the board did not record additional discussion or a follow-up directive in the minutes.
