April Hicks, administrator of the Warrick County Health Department, requested an additional appropriation to cover a rise in sharps-container costs under the department's Stericycle contract and to fund postage for immunization clinic reminders. Hicks said the sharps increase amounts to about $6,600 and the total VaxCare request is $8,001.01, with postage estimated at $858. "We are requesting additional appropriation from health fund 159 vax care in the amount of $8,001.01," Hicks told the council.
Hicks also asked the council to table a separate workforce-development grant appropriation because the county did not yet have a finalized contract with commissioners; council agreed to table that request until the contract is in place.
