Staff reported that the city secured a $2,150,000 grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Resilient Florida program to elevate core electrical and control systems in the Water Reclamation Facility control building.
"Staff successfully secured a $2,150,000 grant from DEP," the city report said. Because of contractor turnover and supply delays, staff asked for a project extension; FDEP granted a 12‑month extension with a new end date of Dec. 31, 2027. The city attorney reviewed the agreement and staff recommended approval.
On a motion and second the council approved the grant agreement and extension by voice vote.
