The Southgate City Council met June 9, 2025, at 122 Electric Ave. Mayor James Hamberg called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present were Council Members Melville, Messmer, Okura, Curry, and Hartman; Council Member Lycans was absent. City Clerk Brandi Barton was present to attest the minutes.
On the agenda the council approved two ordinances on second reading: Ordinance 25-04 amending the 2024-25 budget (Motion/Second: Melville/Okura; Approved Aye 5, Nay 0) and Ordinance 25-05 adopting the 2025-26 budget (Motion/Second: Curry/Melville; Approved Aye 5, Nay 0). With no new business recorded, Council Member Messmer moved to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Hartman; the motion passed Aye 5, Nay 0.
