The Board voted twice to enter closed session during the Nov. 24 meeting. The first closed-session motion covered personnel matters including appointment, employment, compensation, discipline or dismissal of specific employees and complaints; that motion was made by Clarice Chick, seconded by Scott Ewing and passed with four yeas and two absences.
Later in the meeting the Board made a second closed-session motion under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(3) to consider the selection of a person to fill a public office or matters related to discipline, performance or removal of an occupant of a public office. That motion, made by Clarice Chick and seconded by Steve Huey, also passed with the same recorded votes. The minutes cite the relevant statute in both instances.
