Nevis school board certifies $1.424 million maximum levy for payable 2026

The Board of Independent School District 308 certified the State-established maximum levy limitation for payable 2026 at $1,424,142.32 during its Dec. 22 meeting. The board adopted the certification on a roll call vote with all members present voting yes.
Bill Menozzi, Public Finance Director with PTMA Financial Solutions, presented the payable-2026 levy figures during the Truth-in-Taxation portion of the meeting. “The maximum levy limitation for payable 2026 has been established by the State of Minnesota at $1,424,142.32, an increase of $34,998.53 (2.52%) over the 2024 payable 2025 levy,” Menozzi said.
The certification establishes the district’s maximum levy limit for tax-year/collection purposes; the board did not adopt a final referendum or tax rate change at the meeting. The vote to certify was moved by Karrin Lindow and seconded by Aimee Plumley and carried unanimously. The board held no additional recorded motions that changed the certified maximum during the meeting.
