During a closed session reconvened on Jan. 21, the Board reported it voted 4-0 to accept the settlement offer in the case referenced as Student v. Sulphur Springs Union School District, OAH Case No. 2025100350. The minutes record the District will pay an amount not to exceed $22,740 to settle the case.
The minutes list the board members voting in favor: Mrs. Lori MacDonald, Mrs. Paola Jellings, Mr. Ken Chase and Mrs. Shelley Weinstein. The action was taken in closed session under Government Code provisions for existing litigation and the settlement amount was recorded in the public minutes upon reconvening to open session.
