The Board adopted three ceremonial resolutions recognizing staff contributions. Resolution R-26-12 declared May 13, 2026, "California Day of the Teacher;" Resolution R-26-13 declared May 18–22, 2026, as "Classified School Employee Week;" and Resolution R-26-14 recognized School Lunch Hero Day on May 1, 2026. District and community representatives were invited to accept the recognitions: SSDTA President Rikki Fayne accepted the teachers' recognition; Janella Wigdor and Natalie Rincon accepted the classified staff recognition; and Alecia Woods accepted the School Lunch Hero Day acknowledgment on behalf of the Santa Clarita Valley School Food Services Agency.
Board members emphasized appreciation for teachers, classified staff and meal services during the remarks recorded in the minutes. All three resolutions were approved by voice vote (4–0, Weinstein absent).
