Carbon Hill trustees approve minutes and treasurer's report; county sheriff absent

At the Jan. 6, 2026 meeting the Village of Carbon Hill Board of Trustees approved the Dec. 2, 2025 regular meeting minutes and the Dec. 2 executive session minutes. Trustee Laura Emling moved to approve the regular minutes (Trustee Jules Harper seconded) and Trustee Lori Togliatti moved to approve the executive session minutes (Trustee Emling seconded). Both motions carried with five ayes and one absent (Trustee Nicole N. Shain).
Trustee Jules Harper moved to approve the Jan. 6 treasurer's report; Trustee Lori Togliatti seconded and the motion carried with the same 5-0 tally and one absence. The minutes record that the Grundy County Sheriff's Department did not appear to provide its monthly update under old business, and no members of the public provided comments during the public-comment period.
