Voters reject Rockford ISD 883 capital projects levy for technology

The Rockford school board recorded the Nov. 5 election results for a capital projects levy authorization intended to fund technology upgrades. The certified totals show 2,848 votes in favor and 3,365 votes against; because the measure did not receive a majority of votes it was declared failed by the board during the canvass.
Board members did not take further action to revive or amend the proposition at the special meeting. The minutes identify the levy question as a capital projects levy for taxes payable in 2025 and thereafter; the failure means the district will not receive levy revenue for that purpose unless a future measure is approved by voters.
