The Inyo County Board of Education voted unanimously Feb. 24 to approve the H.R. 6 Title VIII Impact Aid Application after holding a public hearing on the application and related policies.
During the hearing, which Trustees opened at 1:44 p.m. and closed at 1:55 p.m., the board reviewed Board Policy #6141.6.1, "Indian Policies and Procedures," concerning participation of Indian children on an equal basis in ICOE education programs. Trustee Joe Profita moved to open the public hearing; Trustee George Lozito seconded. The board later approved the application on a motion by Trustee Joe Profita, seconded by Trustee David Hefner. All recorded votes were 4-0 in favor (Trustees Chris Langley, David Hefner, Joe Profita and George Lozito).
