County's new financial system goes live; payroll, billing and AP running, p-cards and cashiering next

Tyler gave the committee a progress report on the county's new financial system after it went live earlier this week.
"We intended to go live July 1. We had some delays... We went live on Tuesday of this week," Tyler said, adding that payroll, general billing and accounts payable are active and that the treasurer is already using the receiving module. He said implementation is expected to continue with cashiering, three new point-of-sale integrations (health, solid waste, register of deeds) and p-card rollout this month or next.
Tyler emphasized the improved reporting and the new chart of accounts that makes it easier to pull department-level reports: "The reporting is outstanding... I can just pull a whole department with a 2 character segment." He said the system will provide real-time financial visibility across vendor payment types (ACH, check, p-card) and help the county better forecast revenue and budget decisions.
Why it matters: The system aims to reduce manual reconciliation work, give departments timely financial data, and support modernization such as p-card acceptance and consolidated cashiering; staff will continue role and security configuration and phased rollouts for complex modules like health-and-human-services.
