City opens bids for Linda Top Lot ADA component; staff plans bottle‑filling station near old fountain

City staff announced that the ADA component of the Linda Top Lot playground has been advertised for bid and that bids will open in two weeks. Nancy Kent said once the engineering estimate, budget and donation commitments are clear, the city will proceed with surfacing and playground equipment procurement.
On siting for the donated bottle‑filling station, Kent said the proposed location is where the old water fountain was because pipes and drains already exist there, but cautioned that uncovering old infrastructure can reveal code or utility issues that change the final placement. Commissioners asked that staff consider the future of a sandbox during siting discussions so a sandbox could be integrated into a later phase if the fountain location must move.
Kent said the ADA scope includes relocation of the gate at the bottom of the ramp, excavation of sand and drainage work, and an ADA ramp wrapping the top lot entrance. Bids for the ADA component will inform schedule and equipment procurement.
